The 10 Principles of Burning Man
The 10 principles have been drafted by Larry Harvey as a reflection of the community's ethos and culture. They are not meant to dictate a way of life but as a guidance to facilitate our living together, strengthen our caring for our each other and the planet we live on.

Burning Man is a world free of commerce, sponsorship, transaction, advertising, consumption and exploitation
4. Radical Self-reliance
We take full responsiblity and rely on our own resources
5. Radical Self-expression
We are free to be who we are, as long as it respects the rights and liberties of who surrounds us
6. Communal Effort
We value collaboration and communication and relate to community as a whole
7. Civic Responsibility
We actively participate in the public life of the community focusing on the common good and act according to its laws
8. Leaving No Trace
We are environmentalists, it is our ethic about the whole planet
9. Participation
We achieve being through doing
10. Immediacy
We embrace the experience when it presents itself
